About us

The Saudi Aviation Club was established under resolution 217 of The Council of Ministers on 8/9/1421H (4/12/2000G) as an independent not for profit entity to promote aeronautical science and to encourage the participation of the general public in aviation matters.

The club is headquartered at Thumama Airport , 80 km north of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia . It is authorised to establish other aviation clubs/branches/chapters with permission from The Ministry of Defense and Aviation.

Currently there are branches of the club in the western, eastern and southern provinces - at Al khobar, Jeddah, Abha and Al Kharj, and further branches are planned for Jubail, Al Jouf, Tabuk later this year.

They oversee activities such as paragliding, paramotoring and radio controlled model aeroplanes.

Membership of SAC enables participants to practise their hobbies with total freedom in the areas allocated to their specific activity. Membership also allows participants to enrol in local and international competitions.

The Saudi Aviation Club is recognised worldwide and is a member of The Federal Aeronautical Institution (FAI).

It licenses local Saudi private companies to train interested members of the public in flying, skydiving and paramotoring activities.

Membership fees for paramotoring, paragliding, skydiving, and radio controlled model airplanes are set at SR500 annually. Membership fees for the general aviation flight school are SR3000 per year. These fees do not include training or licensing.

The club has made several agreements with local and international hotels and merchants to provide members with special rates. Negotiations are also in progress with local banks to provide members with special services and priority arrangements.
