Thumama airport

 

An Ideal Venue...

Thumamah airport is situated some 60kms north of central Riyadh, about 30kms north of King Khaled International Airport - at 25 degs 13 mins North / 46 degs 39 mins East - 575m / 1880ft above sea level.

Its 4000m long, 45m wide runway is aligned 17R/35L and it has edge lighting.

As well as a 25m x 25m helipad, it has three aprons of 52,000 sq m, 5500 sq m and 2500 sq m.

VOR/DME non-preciion guiding equipment should be installed by the end of 2006.

Its existing hangar is approximately 25 x 30 metres in size, and two more hangars of around 40 x 40m are currently being built.

Thumamah's runway has recently been resurfaced and the Saudi Aviation Club building is also being refurbished.

Across the road is a mansion and diwan, dating back to the time when King Khalid used this area for his official weekend retreat. There are also seven villas and various other buildings, all of which are beingrenovated for use as offices and accomodation.

To reach Thumamah Airport, you should take the Janadriyah road north out of Riyadh and drive for about 30 - 45 minutes.
